please read this entirely and comment!!! My first review~I hope you find this helpful:D
Let me start off with Vanilla!!
1. Vanilla (★★★★): I thought this track was really good! The melodies were very fun and cute. Many fans don’t like it because it’s not her usual style, but I love it! It’s a fun love song and the english words really go well, and i love the rhymes! I also enjoy Leah’s ‘deeper’ vocals. The MV was very fun, and great style and fashion!
2. LOVE SWEET CANDY(★★1/2): Many people like this song over Vanilla, but for me it’s the exact opposite! Leah was struggling with the vocals, and the beat doesn’t seem to change much. The only thing I enjoyed was the lines, “Love sweet candy the sweetest icecream, Oh OH!” I feel this song was put together in a couple of days, and I didn’t like the instrumental near the end.
3. 悲しみと笑顔の中で/In Sadness and in a Smile (★★★★1/2): I really love this slow song!! I love the rhyming scheme! Leah’s voice was really sweet! I love the chorus, and the part when she says, “When your eyes overflow with tears when your heart is lost your fears don’t let darkness destroy your hope cause you are not alone” This song, for me, is like ‘Missing’ but a year later and more depth.
Overall: 3 1/2 – 4 Stars
LOVE PARADOX!
1. Love Paradox (★★★1/2): This song was pretty good, the first song since her first album! Some parts it seemed she was struggled to hit a certain note. Love paradox is sort of a hard song for EVERYONE to relate to, i think. I liked The english parts near the end “Sometimes love just ain’t enough…”. Overall it was alright!
2. Under The Same Sky (★★★★): LOVE it!! I love the entrance and how it sounds as if I am on a beach. Leah talks softly and and enters into an amazing chorus! Really sweet to the ears, and the music video really complimented this song!
Overall: 4 Stars
Leah debut album~Destiny Line!
1. IMPOSSIBLE (★★★) : I love the funky beat and the intro to the vocals. It’s about a break up and not being in a good relationship “lies and fights”. I can relate to this song and I think a lot of people can. Leah’s vocals were sort of amateur near the end “You took my hand…”. Overall it was enjoyable and I like how she rhymes the chorus “nai, lies, etc” hehe.
2. Everything Anything (★★★★): One the most underestimated songs of the album! The music video did no compliment this song at all, and I wish she could make a new one! The instrumentals (I think violins) and vocals were really good. Even though Leah did not write this song, I like how it uses words she used in another song, “Love Story”. The end really worked up to the final “Love story”!
3. Missing (★★★): This song was alright, it sort of dragged on repeating the chorus over and over just to make 4 minutes. It would of been better if they just chopped off one of the repeated choruses, because it got pretty boring. I guess Leah wanted to make a surprise at the very end, “You taught me to be strong, You taught…”, those were my favorite words from the entire song. Leah vocals were medicore during the bridge.
4. 恋しよう♪/Let’s Love (★★★★ 1/2): I never get tired of listening to this song! The little twinkle sounds were really nice, and I love the instrumentals. I’m really surprised Leah did not struggle with the fast Japanese chorus, PROPS TO HER! The meaning is wonderful and it’s very danceable (I even attempted to learn the dance)! Leah vocals really shined (except in live performances >.<)! The lyrics were addicting.
5. 運命線/Destiny Line (★★★): The intro was lovely with chirping birds and and strumming gutair! However, in the entire song the same beat kept repeating which got a little tiring. It was alright.
6. Could you be that one? (★★★★): Another nice intro with the cool beats and gutairs! The chorus takes turns with English and Japanese which really suited the song. I looked up the romanji just so I could sing the chorus properly! The sweet vocals and beats make it a good listen!
7. Are you feelin’ for me? (★★★ 1/2): Nice sexy intro with fade in and outs of cool beats and Leah singing, “OOOh~”. Leah did struggle hitting to the high notes. The lyrics really catchy even though they were a bit corny ex: “I would never hurt you, no, no, no”. I loved after 2 choruses they focused on leah’s vocals and she starts singing, “Leap into me, wanna feel your love against me…”
8. Softly(★★★ 1/2): Sweet soft rhyming entrance. Leah’s soft sweet vocals real match the song-title. However, I can never listen to the song entirely because it gets a little boring! A little TOO slow for me.
9. Time (Clock Of The Heart) (★★): Yawn!! A random choice of cover song much? The back-up singers singing in a continuing annoying high pitch, “Tiiiiiime, Tiiiiime…” really made me change the song right way. I gave this song a generous 2 stars because I think Leah did the best she could with this song.
10. アイシテル~Love Story(★★★★): Yippeeee!! After the previous song it was refreshing to hear this pop song with that clapping beat! Even though this song is almost entirely in English it really rhymed well. A bit of American touch with a guy supporting some of the vocals and “Roll with me…Honey,Honey”. Sort of an Western song with a sprinkle of Japanese. Leah did a great job writing this song completely on her own!!
11. Wonderlin(★★★): This song could of been better if it had a little more…..SOMETHING! It was a bit dull. The instrumentals put me to sleep. I do like Leah’s strong vocal entrance into the chorus.
12. L・O・V・E U(★★★★): Very cute Japanese-ish song! Even though the chorus seem a bit simple, the are fun and catchy! However, after the amazing successful of Koi Shiyou, this song was a teeny step underneath it. However I love Leah’s pronunciation of the Japanese words.
13. Drive Me Crazy(★★★ 1/2): Hehe someone loves Britney spears. Techno-ish beats with electric gutair touches. Leah’s vocals struggled AGAIN in the bridges of the song. I had a bit of a hard time underestanding that she was saying “You Drive crazy, get away” instead of “You Drive me crazy, baby”. The chorus saved the song. Despite the vocals, this song was good.
14. Again and Again(★★★★): BEAUTIFUL! I can relate to this song. Another song with very few Japanese words, but sooo much better! I love the sounds of drip drops and the musical arrangement. I love Leah’s voice singing “Ooooo, Ooooo” it gives me chills. A great song.
Overall: 4 Stars
